Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk to you again.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

Ayel lay on his back in the engine room, listening to something, somewhere, leaking. There was always something leaking. The Narada assured him that she had it under control. He assured her that she didn't.

It was the drip of blood as a hand clenched the wound, willing it to close, unable to stop the blood from oozing between their fingers.

His throat was dry, running drier with the steady dripping sound. He wished there was something he could do. He wished there was anything he could do.

It was warm here, in the engine room. His fingers were stiff and broken, unable to recover from endless, mindless stretches of torture and cold.

Narada, he whispered with his mind, a silent, aching plea. Narada. I miss her. I miss him. I miss them so, so much.
